Welcome new Library Director, Lea Rosell
The Lewes Public Library Board of Commissioners is happy to announce that long time employee, Lea Rosell, has accepted a promotion to the office of Library Director. Previously in corporate sales, Ms. Rosell started at Lewes Public Library as a Circulation Volunteer in 2010 while searching for a more fulfilling career path. Soon, she was hired on as a Circulation Assistant and began her graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. After graduating with a Master of Library and Information Sciences degree, Ms. Rosell was hired on full time at the Lewes Public Library to create the teen services program.
Ms. Rosell cultivated a new relationship with the youth of the Lewes, implementing many popular programs like the annual teen job fair, a technology club, and a Teen Advisory Board. Rosell says, “I enjoyed serving the youth of our community in my capacity as the Teen Services Librarian, but I am excited about stepping into this leadership role. I look forward to helping the library realize their strategic goals over the course of the coming years.”
Ms. Rosell has played an active role in the larger library community. She has served the Delaware Library Association as President of the Youth Services Division, is a member of the organization’s Long Range Planning Committee, and has presented at the joint Delaware and Maryland annual library conference.
Looking forward, Rosell says, “I hope to renew and engage in meaningful partnerships with other community organizations. I would like the library to act as a conduit for marshalling resources to better serve our population.”
