This 3 course series is a detailed retirement planning seminar designed to educate those who are nearing retirement or who have recently retired. Instructor Robert Jeter will cover the importance and basic strategies to plan a successful retirement, maximize your social security benefit and positioning your portfolio to last.

Medicare Benefit Plans & You: A Buyer’s Guide – Tuesday, January 15, 4:00 PM
Presenter Robert Tremain from MidAtlantic Health Plan Advisors will help attendees understand Medicare and its enrollment rules and examine the many options they have for selecting the combination of benefits, premiums, deductibles and co-pays that best matches their individual lifestyles and preferences for securing optimal coverage.

 

Retirement and Social Security: How to Accumulate Wealth and Have Financial Freedom – Monday, February 4, 4:00 PM
This workshop is presented by Diane Heydt of the Delaware Money School. Are you building towards a quality retirement? This course will cover where your retirement money comes from, how you should invest it, and what you should do to protect it. We will also cover how to best choose when and how to take social security.

 

Understanding Annuities – Thursday, February 7, 11:00 AM
Annuities are complex investment instruments. This class presents an objective and educational look at how annuities work, the different types and features of annuities as well as the benefits and downsides to each. There will be time for discussion at the end of class.

 

Managing Taxes in Retirement – Thursday, February 21, 11:00 AM
This class is taught by Certified Financial Planner Robert Jeter and examines various tax issues related to retirees. We will discuss how Social Seurity benefits are taxed, Medicare premiums, RMD’s (Required Minimum Distributions), Charitable giving and other tax-related items. There will be time for discussion at the end of class.

 

Eight Common Estate Planning Mistakes – Monday, February 25, 5:00 PM
This class is taught by Certified Financial Planner Robert Jeter and covers common estate planning mistakes and how you can avoid them. The class will help uncover some of the common myths about estate planning and offer suggestions on how to optimize your financial future and legacy for your benefit and the benefit of your loved ones.
