Retirement Bootcamp: 3 Course Series – Thursdays, 5:00 PM

Planning for retirement can be tricky, it’s full of twists, turns and not nearly enough road signs. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a map, or maybe a checklist for planning a successful retirement? This 3 course series is a detailed retirement planning seminar designed to educate those who are nearing retirement or who have recently retired. Over the course of 3 classes we will cover the importance and basic strategies to plan a successful retirement, maximize your social security benefit and positioning your portfolio to last.
Our goal is to help make people aware of the challenges in retirement and teach them suitable ways to prepare and overcome them.

Medicare Benefit Plans & You – A Buyer’s Guide – Thursday, November 15, 4:00 PM
Presenter Robert Tremain from MidAtlantic Health Plan Advisors will help attendees understand Medicare and its enrollment rules and examine the many options they have for selecting the combination of benefits, premiums, deductibles and co-pays that best matches their individual lifestyles and preferences for securing optimal coverage.

How to Have a Cash Christmas/Hannukkah – Monday, December 3, 4:00 PM
Presented by Diane Heydt of the Delaware Money School. Learn the most common financial mistakes people make, determine what those mistakes cost over time and discover easy methods to fix those mistakes. You will be given practical tools to enhance your financial well-being and put an end to giving away your hard earned money. Upon completion of this class, you will be able to navigate the holiday season with cash in your pocket.

Managing Taxes in Retirement – Thursday, December 6, 11:00 AM
Certified Financial Planner Robert Jeter examines various tax issues related to retirees. We will discuss how Social Seurity benefits are taxed, Medicare premiums, RMD’s (Required Minimum Distributions), Charitable giving and other tax-related items. There will be time for discussion at the end of class.

Understanding Annuities – Thursday, December 13, 11:00 AM
Annuities are complex investment instruments. This class presents an objective and educational look at how annuities work, the different types and features of annuities as well as the benefits and downsides to each. There will be time for discussion at the end of class.
