The Writer’s Library

The largest collection of literary journals and little magazines in the mid-Atlantic region. Housed in the Lewes Public Library, many issues are available to borrow through the Delaware Library Catalog. Anyone in Delaware with a Library card can have access to this collection.

Writers and those interested can find the journals along the wall next to the Travel Section.

The Writer’s Library is a work in progress and new issues are cataloged on a regular basis.

Brief History of The Writer’s Library
The Writer’s Library is built to answer editor’s constant admonition, “please read our journal before you submit your work.” It has been collected to help Delaware authors:

  1. Become familiar with a wider range of literary journals
  2. Have the opportunity to review and better understand the preferred style, content, form, bias, language and quality of work of a particular journal
  3. Improve their chances of getting published.

In collaboration with the Lewes Public Library, the Writer’s Library is founded, collected and led by poet, Gary Hanna. This is a cooperative venture for all Delaware writers and those interested in reading and appreciating quality contemporary fiction.

Please contact Kristen Gramer or Gary Hanna at the library, (302) 645-2733, for additional information.
