From Rte 1 South (Rehoboth, Dewey, etc.)

Take Coastal Highway North (SR-1 N) towards Lewes.
Turn right onto Kings Highway (following Cape May-Lewes Ferry signs).
Make a slight right onto Freeman Highway.
Follow Freeman Highway to Monroe Avenue.
Turn left on Monroe Avenue.
The entrance to the Library parking lot is on the left off of Monroe Avenue.

From Route 24:
Take Route 24 East to Route 1 and follow directions above into Lewes.

From Rte 1 North (Milton, Dover, etc.)

Take Coastal Highway (SR 1 S) towards Lewes.
Turn left onto Route 9 East/Route 268A (following Cape May-Lewes Ferry signs).
Turn left onto Kings Highway.
Make a slight right onto Freeman Highway.
Follow Freeman Highway to Monroe Avenue.
Turn left on Monroe Avenue.
The entrance to the Library parking lot is on the left off of Monroe Avenue.

From Route 9 West:
Take Route 9 East and follow directions above into Lewes.

By Public Transportation

The Delaware Authority for Regional Transit (DART) runs public transportation in our area. The Route 204 bus (Yellow line) is the only public transportation into and out of Lewes. Here is the year-round schedule.

The closest bus stop to the Lewes Public Library is on Savannah Road at Beebe Avenue (at Beebe Medical Center). After getting off at that stop, walk down Beebe Avenue to Kings Highway. Take a right on Kings Highway and walk two blocks to Adams Avenue. Cross Kings Highway and walk two blocks to the Lewes Public Library. We are the large building on the right after you cross the bike path.
