Shakespeare Summer Acting Intensives

Calling All Young Thespians!

The Lewes Public Library is thrilled to announce the return of our Shakespeare Summer Acting Intensives. From August 10th to August 21st, students will undergo 30 hours of professional training, culminating in a public performance on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026.

We are offering two distinct programs designed for different age groups:

Shakespeare Summer Acting Intensive (Grades 9-12)

Instructor: Sadie Andros

This intensive (and intensively fun!) program is designed for highly motivated high school students with a deep interest in Shakespeare and acting. It is led by Sadie Andros – a theatre teacher at Cape Henlopen High School who trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and has performed on professional stages regionally, in New York City, and in London.

Students will dive into:
– Advanced text work and scene study.
– Professional performance preparation.
– Independent rehearsals to prepare for the final showcase.

This intensive is led by Kerinne Walls, a Towson University BFA graduate and two-time Kennedy Center Classical Acting Award recipient. As the former Theatre Education Director at the Milton Theatre, Kerinne brings her expertise to:

– Shakespearean performance practice.

The LSWS is partially funded by the generous support of the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on DelawareScene.com.
