We Love Banned Books Week

Join your community at the Lewes Public Library during Banned Books Week 2024 as we celebrate the freedom to seek and express ideas, reflect on attempts to censor books in libraries and schools, and resolve to fight together against censorship. LET FREEDOM READ!!

BANNED BOOKS/SILENCED VOICES

Thursday, September 26th | 5:00 PM | In-person and Online
When books are banned, the voices of the author and the characters are silenced and readers are closed off to people, places, and perspectives. By standing up for stories, the power that lies inside every book is unleashed, and the array of voices that need to be heard and the scenes that need to be seen are liberated. Join us in the library or online as Delaware Shakespeare brings the strength and the beauty of banned texts to life through dramatic readings.
